Asbestos Identification Analysis
Engaging an experienced asbestos consultant is an important step in identification. Samples of the suspected material must undergo asbestos testing at a NATA accredited laboratory using microscopic analysis as they cannot be confirmed by a visual examination. If you’re trying to identify asbestos, make sure testing is conducted by a NATA accredited laboratory. Otherwise, testing reports may not be accepted by SafeWork NSW, local councils, and other authorities.
-
Asbestos / Hazardous Materials Surveys
If you manage or control a workplace; undertaking renovations or demolition works on a building, then you are required under the WHS Regulations to have an Asbestos / Hazardous Materials survey conducted (also known as an Asbestos or Hazardous Materials Audit / Inspection / Assessment). Depending upon your requirements our comprehensive survey can include identification of the following materials: Asbestos, Lead in Paint, Synthetic Mineral Fibre (SMF) and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs).
-
Asbestos Registers & Management Plans
If you manage or control a workplace, it’s your responsibility to ensure an asbestos register is prepared, maintained, and kept at the workplace. If asbestos is present, you will also require an asbestos management plan (AMP). The asbestos register lists all the asbestos that’s known to be in your workplace, while the asbestos management plan details your procedures for dealing with asbestos.

Airborne Fibre Monitoring
Air monitoring means airborne asbestos fibre sampling that assesses exposure and effectiveness of control measures implemented during the removal of friable and non-friable (bonded) asbestos. Air monitoring includes background, control and clearance monitoring. It is a mandatory legal requirement for the removal of friable asbestos. Additionally, it is highly recommended to undertake an air monitoring program during the removal of non-friable asbestos to ensure compliance.
-
Asbestos Clearance Inspection
Asbestos clearance inspections and clearance certificates are required for all licensed asbestos removal works under the WHS regulations. As the last step in the asbestos removal process, a clearance inspection provides assurance that removal works have been completed to a satisfactory standard and the work area is safe to re-occupy. When using Remedy Enviro Services for your clearance inspections, you can ensure you are complying with your legal obligations by engaging a Licensed Asbestos Assessor.
-
Licensed Asbestos Assessor
An independent SafeWork NSW licensed asbestos assessor (LAA) can undertake air monitoring, or the issuing of clearance certificates for removal of friable (Class A) or non-friable (Class B) asbestos. The LAA must be engaged as a mandatory legal requirement under the Work, Health and Safety Regulation for all Class A (Friable) asbestos removal works. All friable asbestos related consultancy services (i.e., surveys, air monitoring and clearance inspections) related to the removal of friable asbestos can only be conducted by an LAA.

Mould Inspection & Assessment
The presence of damp and mould can cause serious issues within office environments and at home. Early identification and remediation are essential. As well as posing health risks to people in the building it invades, mould can gradually damage building materials and furnishings and even cause structural damage. Where damp, mould or perceived mould odours are present a mould assessment should be conducted by an independent occupational hygienist.
